I. The Resurrection of Christ proves our Faith is Certain
- True faith stands upon Christ’s resurrection from the dead, for if Christ did not rise:
- There would be no salvation and no need to believe Rom. 10:9-11
- There would be no hope in death and no purpose in life I Cor. 15:58; I Pet. 1:3
- There would be no need for morality or service towards others I Cor. 15:32
II. The Resurrection of Christ provides the First-Fruits of our
Salvation John 12:23-28
- Jesus Christ, as the second Adam, restores what the first Adam ruined Rom. 5:12-21; James 1:18
- Jesus is our representative offering who secures our justification. Rom. 4:25
- Jesus is our representative victor who conquers sin and death for us Rom. 6:23; I Cor. 15:54-57
- Jesus is our representative king who reigns over His/our enemies Heb. 2:5-9
III. The Resurrection of Christ proclaims our Future is Assured
- Our risen and ascended Savior reigns at the right hand of God the Father, giving us free and full access to God
- The presence of Christ’s reign: His rule as king is current 2 Cor. 4:14; I Thess. 4:13-18
- The extent of Christ’s reign: His rule as king is comprehensive Eph. 1:20-22; Phil. 2:9-11
- The necessity of Christ’s reign: His rule as king is conclusive Rev. 21:1-5
