II. The Work of the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit bears witness to Jesus Christ through:
Conversion: The work of regeneration

Illumination: The work of spiritual discernment/understanding

Assurance: The work of indwelling

III. The Relationship with the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit unites us with Christ and with Christ’s church
He calls into the family of God and enables us to call God our Father

He sanctifies us by giving us spiritual fruit; and guidance through the Word
Eph. 3:14-19; Gal. 5:22, 23; I Pet. 1:15, 16
He empowers us by giving us spiritual gifts and leaders in the fellowship of the saints
